Is there more?

Do you ever lay in bed and wonder is there more to life than this? I don’t mean you are depressed, maybe you did not have a bad day, but you wonder is there more?

I remember when I used to lie in bed at night and think those thoughts, wondering if all life would be was climbing some seemingly never ending ladder of achievement, but there is more. There truly is only one thing that will bring true satisfaction in life and that is a real relationship, not religion, not a belief system, not mental acknowledgment, but a real relationship with someone who would and did literally die to know you. Jesus Christ died for you. While we were still sinners, He died so that our sins could be forgiven and we could have a relationship with God the Father and with Jesus Christ the Son. That is eternal life (not a ticket to heaven, but real life here and now).

There is more than the daily grind, more than our greatest achievements, more than mere moments of happiness, there is more. You can have it through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

John 17:3 3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Romans 10:9-10 9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Ashley Denton’s life change story

This week was another amazing week at Southbridge. We are continually desiring to connect both believers and non-believers to Jesus Christ for life change. Again this week we saw people take steps of faith, making decisions for Jesus. Part of our service this week included hearing Ashley Denton’s life change story. If you missed it today check it out.

Nourish (Guest blog from Shanna Lehr)

nourish-v6b

This Thursday, Southbridge Fellowship women will be gathering for Nourish, our Women’s Ministry event. We will host Paula Rinehart who is an author, speaker, and counselor in Raleigh.  As I talked with Paula over lunch, I sensed a warmth and thoughtfulness about her as well as a deep love for God’s Word.  She will speak for two short sessions.  Here is a sneak peak at the content of her talks:

“Two bedrock truths must be ours, in ever deeper measures, as we move through life:  God’s greatness and His empathy.  What would it mean to walk out your days with God, resting in his sovereign grace? Experience the cure for our regrets, the calm for our fears.”

Join us at the Hilton RTP off Page Rd at 7pm this Thursday, May 13th for an exciting evening with our women. Paula’s books will be available for purchase at the event.
